Celem ochrony jest zachowanie starodrzewu dębowego pochodzenia naturalnego, występującego w zespole o charakterze grądu, interesujących form geomorfologicznych oraz stanowisk wielu gatunków roślin rzadkich i chronionych, jak też bogatej awifauny.
